OUR PROGRESS

INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY COMBINED WITH A SUBSTANTIAL & RENEWABLE FEEDSTOCK

OUR SITE

Significant and Renewable Feedstock of Homogenous Bauxite Residue Operations for the Long-Term in Gramercy, Louisiana

  • ElementUS plans to build and operate a proprietary separation and extraction processing plant at the Noranda Alumina plant, newly rebranded as Atlantic Alumina Company (ATALCO)
  • Located on the Mississippi River with access to key infrastructure for truck, rail, barge and ocean freight
  • Secured a long term, exclusive purchase agreement for the bauxite residue

SITE OPERATIONS

  • Secured reserves of approximately 30 million dry tons of residue on-site, as well as the generation of nearly 1 million additional tons per year
  • Will build a 1 million ton per year separation and extraction plant
  • The plant will separate the residue into rare earth elements and other valuable minerals, producing rare earth oxides, pigments, sorbents, and coagulants.
  • Main separation plant will be combined with multiple downstream processing units to complete the conversion of the bauxite residue into final saleable products.

OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

The quality of the feedstock has been recorded since the beginning of the operation of the alumina plant in the 1950s. Additionally, samples collected by independent global leader RESPEC to determine the composition of the bauxite residue and tested by the world renowned Hazen Research Analytical Laboratories demonstrated high consistency and homogeneity of ElementUS key raw materials.
